Gauteng Health hosts Mental Health Summit, 31 Oct

The Gauteng Department of Health will tomorrow, 31 October 2017 host the Mental Health Summit at Gallagher Estate, Midrand.

Under the theme Together Promoting Mental Health Rights: Break the stigma, break the silence, the summit is aimed at raising awareness on mental health as well as looking at ways of eradicating the stigma associated with the illness.

The Summit will provide delegates with an opportunity to engage mental health stakeholders and evaluate progress that has been made towards transforming this area of work. The Summit will be attended by about 300 delegates.

Mental illness is a behavioural, mental, or emotional disorder that interferes with the person’s lifestyle, however with early diagnosis, care treatment and rehabilitation most people can recover from the illness.
