Glo Backs Eagles to Triumph in the Battle of Uyo

Major sponsor of Nigerian national teams, Globacom, has declared support for the Super Eagles ahead of the international friendly match between the Eagles and Cranes of Uganda scheduled for the Ibom International Stadium today.
Globacom in a press statement in Lagos yesterday, stated that the Eagles need maximum support from Nigerians in their quest to return to reckoning after missing out of the last African Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea.
“Our focus should be on getting the team in shape ahead of the qualifying matches for the next African Cup of Nations,” the company said.
Globacom, therefore advised the coaches to assemble the best players both from the Glo Premier League and the foreign leagues with the aim of building a formidable team that will stand the test of time and make Nigeria proud in subsequent competitions.
“In 2013, we won the African Cup of Nations in South Africa but unfortunately we could not defend the trophy in Equatorial Guinea. This is the best time to plan ahead, play many friendlies and build our team to be able to return to the lofty number one position in Africa and a respected team in world football,” the statement added.
