Israeli Forces Detain 15 Palestinians, Summon Another from West Bank

Israeli forces Thursday detained 15 Palestinians, including a minor, and summoned another mostly in predawn raids across the West Bank, said security sources as well as Palestine Prisoner’s Society.

Five Palestinians were detained from Hebron, two others from Bethlehem, four others from Jerusalem, two others from Tulkarem, another from Qalqiliya and another from Jenin.

In the southern West Bank district of Hebron, forces detained three Palestinians after storming and ransacking their family houses in Yatta town, south of Hebron.

The detainees were identified as Yazan Zein, Mahmoud Zain and Zein Makhamra.

During the raid, forces stormed and thoroughly searched the family house of Yunis Zein, who is held in Israeli custody.

Another Palestinian identified as Odai Masalma was detained in a raid into Beit Awwa town, west of Hebron.

During the raid, soldiers stormed and ransacked the family house of Hatem Sweiti, destroying furniture and physically assaulting his father.

Another Palestinian was handcuffed and detained after being stopped at a checkpoint near Bethlehem city. The detainee was identified as Muhammad Manasra from Hebron district.

Meanwhile, forces detained Abdul-Baset Shahin, 24, during a raid into the Bethlehem city neighborhood of al-Karkafa.

They also detained another Palestinian, who remained unidentified, during a raid that sparked violent clashes with local Palestinian youths in Duheisha refugee camp, south of Bethlehem city.

Troops fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades during the raid, causing several locals to suffer excessive tear gas inhalation.

They also handed Ibrahim Ziadeh a notice ordering him to appear before intelligence in the Israeli detention and interrogation center of Gush Etzion.

To the north of Bethlehem, in Jerusalem district, police detained 15-year-old Yusef Shawish, Ahmad Razem, 19, Rami Fakhuri, 26, from Jerusalem’s Old City as well as Obada Amira from the Jerusalem village of Sur Baher.

In the northern West Bank district of Qalqiliya, forces detained Wael Swidan, 25, and stormed several houses in a raid into Azzun town, east of Qalqiliya city.

To the north of Qalqiliya, in Tulkarem district, two Palestinians were detained during separate raids into Beit Lid and Dhanaba, east of Tulkarem city.

The detainees were identified as Aqqab Zabadi, 24, and Ammar Majduba, 30, who had been held for 10 years in Israeli custody.

In Jenin district, police detained Mahmoud Khzeimiya, 25, who comes from Qabatiya town, while he was inside Israel.
