Israeli Police Detain Eight Palestinians from Jerusalem

Israeli police detained Thursday eight Palestinians from Jerusalem district, including two minors and a media videographer, bringing the total number of detainees to at least 12, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society.

Israeli police conducted a large-scale detention raids across Jerusalem, detaining at least eight Palestinians.

The detainees were identified as Hesham Bashitti, 16, Mahdi Abu-Dhiyab, 17, Mohammad Hashlamun, 18, Mohammad Buja, 19, Mohammad Abu-Shusha, 20, Ziad Qaq, 23, Ahmad Shawish, 23, and Eyad Tawil, who works as a photographer with Al-Jazeera Net.

This came after other four Palestinians, including a 15-year-old minor, were detained from Jerusalem’s Old City and the Jerusalem village of Sur Baher.

This brought the total number of Palestinians detained Thursday to 24, including the Mahmoud Tarayra, whose 17-year-old son, Mohammad, was shot dead by Israeli forces earlier Thursday following an alleged stabbing attack in an Israeli settlement on the outskirts of Hebron.
