MEC Faith Mazibuko sends condolences to Emzini Wezinsizwa Actor, Washington Sixolo

Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Faith Mazibuko, joins the rest of South Africa in paying her last respect for former television and stage actor Washington Sixolo. Ntate Sixolo joins a list of giants who helped build South Africa’s Creative Industry, bringing not only entertainment but education.

After decades spent entertaining various audience, now aged 83 Ntate Sixolo has truly run his race well and like many of his kind including Nyembezi Kunene, Godfrey Moloi, Ray Ntlokwana, Joe Mafela and many others we’ve lost an asset, a symbol of our indigenous knowledge and culture.

On behalf of the Gauteng provincial government and its people, we’d like to express our sincerest sympathies to the family and the arts industry. May his soul rest in peace and his legacy continue to be an inspiration for the nation, says MEC Mazibuko.
