Minister Mildred Oliphant addresses Ministerial Imbizo, 19 Nov

The Minister of the Department of Labour, Mildred Oliphant, will be delivering a keynote address during the Ministerial Imbizo which will be held as follows.

Date: 19 November 2017

Time: 9h00

Venue: Kopanang-Hlanganani Intermediate School, Warden

The Minister will be accompanied by the Deputy Minister for the Department of Labour, Inkosi Patekile Holomisa, Director General and senior management of the Department. Members of the public from the following towns, Frankfort, Villiers, Tweeling, Cornelia, Vrede, Memel and Warden are invited to attend this august occasion.

A special invitation has also been made to the farming community to be part of this Imbizo. To this end, farm workers in all of the areas identified have also been invited. This is partly due to the fact that these are communities which hard to reach insofar as service delivery is concerned as they are situated in the far-flung areas of our towns.

Together with the Department of Labour, other Department and State Agencies such as the Departments of Social Development, Rural Development, Agriculture, Education, Public Works, Correctional Services, South African Police Service, Supported Employment Enterprise, Maluti TVET College, Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), National Youth Development Agency, Rand Mutual Assurance, Government Communication and Information System are among those that will be rendering their services to the public.

This Imbizo will be followed by the Community Outreach Campaign which will be spearheaded by the Compensation Fund. This campaign will take place in Memel, Vrede, Villiers, and Frankfort. The campaign is hosted in conjunction with other branches of the Department such as the Inspection and Enforcement Services, Public Employment Services, as well as the Unemployment Insurance Fund.

This is one of many pro-active mechanisms the Department of Labour has adopted to try and speed up service delivery and ensure the livelihoods of our clients are maintained at all material times. This campaign is envisaged to be a comprehensive one stop shop for all services of the Department of Labour;

The targeted audience for this campaign is as follows;

Compensation Fund clients

Medical Service Providers

Unemployment Insurance Fund clients

Work seekers

Workers in general with issues pertaining their respective conditions of employment

Employers who need assistance with any of the services offered by the Department of Labour.
