The Dti to brief media on its 2016/17 annual performance
Members of the media are invited to a media briefing where the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies and Deputy Minister, Mr Bulelani Magwanishe will brief the media on the Department of Trade and Industry’s 2016/17 performance after presenting the Department’s Annual Report to the Portfolio Committee on Trade and Industry:

Minister Davies and Deputy Minister Magwanishe will highlight key achievements against planned targets for the 2016/17 financial year as per the department’s strategic objectives of facilitating transformation of the economy to promote industrial development, investment, competitiveness and employment creation.
The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) has once again obtained clean audit reports from the Auditor General for the 2016/2017 financial year for both the department and most of its agencies. During the period under review, the dti has provided financial support of approximately R7 billion, supporting more than 1400 companies which will leverage total private sector investment of approximately R30 billion into the South African economy.
