SAFA APPEALS FOR PATIENCE OVER APPOINTMENT OF BAFANA COACH

JOHANNESBURG, South African Football Association (SAFA) Technical Director Neil Tovey has pleaded with the public to be patient as the association continues its search for a new national team coach.

However, SAFA is running out of time to appoint THE new coach, after they sacked former Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba in December last year because international friendly matches are coming up thick and fast and SAFA is under pressure to perform under some stressful situations.

This month, Bafana will play back-to-back friendly matches against Guinea-Bissau and Angola at home. Tovey believes time is still on their side.

Speculation is rife that SAFA has decided on appointing Dutch coach Ruud Krol as Bafana Bafana coach but it has steadfastly refused to comment on the matter.

Tovey said there was still time to prepare a team for the African Cup Of Nations qualifiers for the 2019 tournament as well as for the FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia.
