ZIMBABWEANS RESIDING IN SOUTH AFRICA URGED TO REGULARISE THEIR STAY

South African Home Affairs (Interior) Minister Malusi Gigaba has urged Zimbabwean nationals residing in South Africa on a Zimbabwean Special Permit (ZSP) to regularise their stay in South Africa before the permit expires at the end of 2017.

The permits were issued in 2014 to accommodate Zimbabweans in South Africa.

Gigabi said here Wednesday that he would first consult with other relevant Cabinet ministers in other departments before a decision is taken on what to do with Zimbabweans who do not regularise their stay before the Dec 31, 2017 deadline.

We advise the Zimbabweans in the country, those who are on the ZSP, to regularise their stay in the country by taking advantage of the various visas that are provided for in the Immigration Act of South Africa. We would now have to decide, those who are holders of the ZSP and did not regularize their stay, what to do.
