STERKSPRUIT- During the weekend members from Sterkspruit Detectives Sgt Qhuqha and Const Dayele together with members from crime intelligence successfully arrested a 30-year-old suspect for housebreaking and theft.
During the combined operation, the members follow up positive information received about stolen property.
They recovered the stolen property of the complainant from the suspect and he was arrested. On further investigation, the suspect was interviewed about the outstanding stolen property. This led the police to different locations including, Mokhesi, Makhetheng and New rest where the property was sold by the suspect.
The SAPS managed to recover all the stolen items to the value of R30 000-00. The recovered items included the following: blankets, 42 inch Television, HP laptop, blender, pair of takkies, 2 x cellular phones and a hair dryer.
The suspect appeared in the Sterkspruit District Court on 20 July 2020.
The Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Rudulph Adolph commended the members on the combined successful operation the arrest and recovery of the stolen property.
The community is once again encouraged to always mark their property clearly as that assist the SAPS in the identification and recovery of the stolen property.
