Willowvale police arrested a 47-year-old man for possession of an unlicensed firearm namely Norinco pistol with nine rounds of ammunition. The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, 24 July 2018 at about 22:30 at Ntshingeni Locality, Chafutweni Village, Willowvale. The suspect has been charged with possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The suspect is appearing at the Willowvale Magistrate’s Court today on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The suspect was arrested after police received valuable information that he is in possession of unlicensed firearm. The firearm will be sent for ballistic test to establish if it was not used to commit crime around Willowvale and the surrounding areas. Butterworth Cluster Commander Brigadier Ngangema Xakavu praised the Willowvale police for cleaning their villages of illegal firearms.
