A 34 year old suspect arrested for dealing in drugs in Tafelsig

Western Cape: On Monday 2018-10-01 at about 16:30 members attached to Operation Combat Faure were busy with crime prevention duties in Tafelsig. They received information about drugs being sold at a house in Perdeberg Street, Tafelsig. Upon entering the premises members found a male packing drugs into packets. They seized 58 packets of Tik, six big sachets (Bankies) of Tik, 150 Mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash.

They arrested a 34-year old-male. The suspect faces a charge of dealing in drugs and he is expected to appear in the Mitchells Plain Magistrate’s Court once he has been charged.

In an unrelated incident on Tuesday (2018-10-02) at about 04:40 members of the Bishop Lavis Crime Prevention Unit arrested a 23-year-old male for the illegal possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition in End Road Bishop Lavis. The members followed up information received by an informer. As they approached End Road they noticed the male that fit the description and as they approached him, he started running. The members gave chase and apprehended the suspect and confiscated a brown and black firearm with one live round of ammunition. The suspect is due to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ Court once he has been charged.
