ODENDAALSRUS – Concerted efforts to clear the streets of Odendaalsrus of drugs was conducted yesterday, 10 May 2021 when members of Welkom Public Order Police Reaction Team followed up information about a man dealing in drugs at Block 5 section in Kutloanong.

Upon arrival at the place, a male ran inside the shack. Members of Public Order Policing Reaction Team chased him and found him attempting to hide drugs.

The members conducted a search and found 36 quarters of Mandrax, 14 halves Mandrax, 2 full Mandrax tablets that weighed 00,3 kg and R457 cash were found in his possession. They were seized and a 46-year-old man was arrested.

Members proceeded to another house in K6 section of Kutloanong where upon arrival the suspect jumped the fence and ran away, leaving behind 261 pokes of dagga on his bed which weighed 2.268 kg. Investigations continues.

This 46-year-old suspect will appear in Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court on 12 May 2021.
