EASTERN CAPE – Police efforts to eradicate proliferation of illegal firearms and violent crimes like murder and armed robberies,

East London Crime intelligence led an operation with Mdantsane OCC in the early hours of this morning at Duncan Village.

The following successes were achieved, 46 bompies of dagga and one Taurus firearm with (10) ten live ammunition, one magazine, two black cellphone were recovered. The suspect ran away, and since it was too dark the police couldn’t catch him. The suspect is being traced and police are hot on his heels. An arrest is eminent.

In addition to the recoveries, two toy guns were recovered. Some of these toy guns are used in commission of crime like armed robbery.
