On Monday afternoon, (2018-12-31) at about 16:15 members attached to the Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit conducted a search at a house in Leadwood Street, Eastridge after receiving information that drugs were being stored at the house. Upon the members arrival they searched the premises and found three plastic packets of cocaine, 10 small plastic packets of tik, eight grams of tik, 19 heroin straws, 33 grams of heroin, 19 ecstasy tablets, 259 grams of dagga, 11 dagga cigarettes, five whole mandrax tablets and 10 half mandrax tablets.
During the search the members also confiscated an undisclosed amount of cash. The members arrested two suspects a 21 year old man and 26 year old women.
Both suspects will appear today (Wednesday, 2019-01-02) in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate Court on charges relating to possession of drugs.
These type of operations will be conducted continuously during the Festive Season in all areas to increase police visibility and to encourage the community to form part of the community safety structures.
