A Mozambican national fatally stabbed to death allegedly by his fellow countryman

NELSPRUIT – Police in Schoemansdal are investigating a murder case whereby a 24-year-old Mozambican national was allegedly stabbed to death by his fellow countryman between Wednesday 24 August 2022 and Thursday 25 August 2022.

It is alleged that both the deceased and the suspect were working for one employer for a building construction and they were also renting the same house in Boschfontein.

According to information at police’s disposal, the victim and the suspect had an argument and they never got along for about four days over the suspicions that one used the other one’s bedroom.

They were last seen together on Wednesday, but still not in good terms. On Thursday, when the deceased’s friend could not see him for the whole day, he decided to visit him and was shocked to find him in a pool of blood where he was later certified dead by medical personnel.

A murder weapon was also found next to the deceased.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has condemned the killing.
