Accused appear in court for murder of a teacher

NORTH WEST – A 17-year-old murder accused was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Wednesday, 19 August 2020, for legal representation.
The accused appeared in the Ganyesa Magistrates’ Court today following his arrest on Wednesday, 12 August 2020 in Mmadinonyane village in connection with the murder of a 56-year-old teacher, Beauty Siamisang. The latter’s body was found on Monday morning, 20 July 2020 inside her house in Mmadinonyane village, Ganyesa outside Vryburg.
According to information received, the lifeless body of Siamisang was found on the bed by her colleagues when they went to check up on her after she failed to report for duty.
During the arrest, the accused was found in possession of the victim’s cell phone. The accused who is being processed in terms of the Child Justice Act, 2008 (Act No. 75 of 2008) is also facing charges of rape and robbery.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena commended the team for their tireless efforts which led to the arrest.
