Accused sentenced to five years direct imprisonment

NORTHERN CAPE – Tlotlo Timothy Ntwayagae (27), was convicted and sentenced to five years direct imprisonment for possession of stolen property by the Kuruman Regional court on Wednesday, 03 March 2021.

Ntwayagae was arrested in February 2019 after he was linked to a carjacking incident that took place in Kuruman. Whilst awaiting trial, Ntwayagae escaped from custody at Kuruman Correctional Service. He was then rearrested few weeks later and was convicted to three years direct imprisonment for escaping. The case was handed over to the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation for a further probe.

The Provincial Head of Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation Major General Kholekile Galawe applauded the investigating team for the sterling work done.
