Aliwal North Cluster embark on safer schools programme

Today 21 January 2019 A Cluster team compromised of (Corporate Communication, Cluster CPO, and Women’s Network accompanied by Maletswai Social Crime Prevention Team visited local Pelomosa Primary School in support of the Back to School programme.

The purpose was to sensitize learners about crime and to assure them that the SAPS is committed in creating safer school environments and also as part of our efforts to empower learners with knowledge, said the Cluster Corporate Communication officer, Warrant Officer Moitheri Bojabotseha. Various speakers also shared information about the dangers of drugs and bullying. Learners were also encouraged do be disciplined and to respect their educators. Learners welcomed the visit by SAPS members and also took keen interest in the discussions on the various topics. Warrant Officer Matetelane during his closing remarks asked learners questions after the discussions aiming to test what they have learned from the engagement session.

Deputy Cluster Commander, Colonel Mpho Rabele commended the cluster team for their efforts and encourage the members to continue with the safer schools programme which is aimed at empowering learners.
