Aliwal North Cluster: Safer Festive Season Operations

In the past weekend a multidisciplinary approach in line with our back to basic policing approach, security cluster component from SAPS, Local traffic, Disaster and Provincial Traffic conducted a successful festive Operation ensuring that safety and security is priotized during these times.

Different stations within the Cluster performed duties.

In Lady Grey on the 30 November 2018 members visited liquor outlets, local hotspots including business sectors. Traffic fines to an amount of R 2500, 00 was issued to motorist not complying with traffic laws.

On Saturday 1 December 2018 in Burgersdorp also During Operations under the command of Station Commissioner, Lt Col Nqoshela was achieved the following successes.

Two 2 suspects arrested for possession of dagga, 28 knives were confiscated from liquor outlets and ATMs were also visited.

In Steynsburg 01/12/18 Operation was also conducted and it was successful. Success as follows:

1. 12 pocket Knives

2. Screwdrivers

1. One 1 homemade knife confiscated.

Dagga suspect will appear in court soon facing charge of possession of dagga.

The Cluster Commander Brigadier Trevor Mey commended the commitment of members who performed extremely well as SAPS we will strengthened these partnership with our colleagues from traffic Department safety of community is a priority to us.
