Amid Massive Public Reception, Prime Minister Arrives in Khartoum

Khartoum: Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, arrived in Khartoum today, accompanied by several ministers, marking the resumption of the activities of the Government of Hope in the capital. According to South African Government News Agency, he was received at the entrance of Bahri by Wali of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, along with a number of ministers, state officials, and a large crowd of Bahri residents. Addressing a public gathering at Al-Kadro Square in Bahri, Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, announced the full return of the Government of Hope to Khartoum to resume its activities. He praised the people of Khartoum for their patience, perseverance, and patriotism amid the nation's challenges, heralding that complete victory is soon to be achieved. The Prime Minister pledged improvements in health, education, electricity, water, sanitation, citizen livelihoods, and security, alongside supporting the reopening of universities. He also declared 2026 as the 'Year of Peace: Peace of the Brave Victorious K nights,' during which development and reconstruction will advance across the country. He highlighted that the government submitted the new year's budget without adding burdens on citizens, aiming to reduce inflation by up to 70% and achieve a growth rate of 9%. Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, expressed his gratitude to President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, TSC members, and the people of the East and Red Sea State for their warm reception. He also praised the efforts of the Supreme Committee for Preparing the Return to Khartoum State, Wali of Khartoum State, and the State Security Committee for facilitating the return. Representative of the citizens of Al-Kadro area, Khalid Mohammed Hamid, welcomed Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, to Khartoum, affirming the people's support for the Government of Hope as the representative of the country's sovereignty. He urged the Prime Minister to provide electricity services and support production in Al-Saleit Project neighborhoods and called for the appointment of Ministers of State in both the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Animal Resources.
