Animal Puppets Highlight Climate Threat to Biodiversity

Berlin: Life-sized animal puppets, part of an international art project called "The Herds," are marching from the DR Congo to the Arctic to confront the public with the human and ecological cost of the climate crisis.

According to Deutsche Welle, "The Herds" art project serves as a warning of the consequences of the climate crisis. Puppet masters set in motion life-like animals made of cardboard and plywood as they pass through the streets of major European cities. This unique initiative features twenty species of animal puppets, which were designed in South Africa, including gorillas, giraffes, and lions.

The project aims to highlight the threat to the world's biodiversity and the challenges arising from migration forced by the climate crisis. It seeks to engage the public by bringing attention to the significant issues linked to environmental changes and the resulting impact on animal species and ecosystems. The report by Euromaxx reporter Charlotte Chelsom-Pill underscores the importance of acknowledging and addressing these pressing environmental concerns.
