Another batch of antiretroviral tablets intercepted

Just a day after a huge consignment of antiretroviral tablets was found and two people were arrested in Bloemfontein; the police in Ventersburg also intercepted another vehicle and effected some arrests.

Following information members of Tactical Response Team (TRT) managed to arrest three suspects in Ventersburg on Friday, 10 January 2020 at about 17:30. Their vehicle a Toyota Corolla, was searched and 265 bottles containing ARV tablets were found and confiscated. The vehicle was also confiscated for being used in the commission of crime.

The trio consisting of a 45-year-old woman, and two males aged 30 and 60 will be charged for possession of suspected stolen items. They are all residents of Meloding near Virginia. They will appear at Ventersburg Magistrates’ Court soon.

“Once more it’s evident how effective is our Intelligence information and speedy reaction by our teams to successfully operationalise such information.” Said the Provincial Commissioner; Lt Gen Baile Motswenyane.
