Benoni: From Monday 24 March 2025 to Wednesday 26 March 2025, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested two suspects and recovered one motor vehicle. According to South African Police Service, on Wednesday 26 March 2025 at around 11:30, members operationalised information about alleged drug-related activity, which led them to an address in Zonkezizwe Zone 1. A 29-year-old suspect was arrested on the premises, and 98 zip lock bags of dagga and two packets of nyaope (heroin) were recovered. In the same area at Zone 3, shortly after the first incident, members arrested a 41-year-old suspect and recovered 25 half tablets of mandrax as well as 12 packets of crystal methamphetamine. In further policing actions, an abandoned hijacked white Toyota Hilux was recovered at Sunfish Street, Kaalfontein, reported on a Brooklyn case. Investigation continues. The suspects will be appearing in the local Magistrate's Court facing charges of dealing in drugs.
