BMIACF to Launch Anti-Corruption Campaign at OR Tambo International Airport

Johannesburg:The Border Management and Immigration Anti-Corruption Forum (BMIACF) is set to host its quarterly anti-corruption campaign at OR Tambo International Airport on Friday. This initiative is part of efforts to address corruption at South Africa's ports of entry.

According to South African Government News Agency, the campaign is chaired by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) and aims to proactively combat corruption. Key figures leading the campaign include Border Management Authority Commissioner Dr. Michael Masiapato, SIU Head Leonard Lekgetho, and Home Affairs Director General Tommy Makhode, along with representatives from other governmental institutions.

During the event, leaders will publicly sign a pledge demonstrating their commitment to fighting corruption and will urge officials at the airport to follow their example. The campaign will also feature testimonies from incarcerated offenders who have been sentenced for fraud and corruption, highlighting the consequences of engaging in such activities.

Additionally, the Hawks will present information on their efforts to tackle corruption at ports of entry and provide statistics on convictions related to these activities.
