BNA Official Hails Progress of National Banking System

The director for Information Technology of the National Reserve Bank of Angola (BNA), Fernando Quiúma, said on Monday in Lubango in the southern Huíla province that the banking system of the country has been growing and the use of the technologies is fundamental in the services applied to the commercial banks.
Speaking to the press on the fringes of the 10th Annual Conference of the Sub-committee of Information Technology of the Central Banks of SADC, Fernando Quiúma said that the country is now recording the frequency of the opening of various commercial banks that use sophisticated means to assist the public.
“We can say that we are well, as you have seen, the banking system has been growing and we also have been extending the use of technology countrywide”, he said.
According to him, the central bank has been managing this layer of data that the market offers and has been responding, adequately, national economy, through the commercial banking systems.
In the conference, taking place until Thursday, the participants are discussing issues related to the strategies of plans recommended in 2014, work of the Central Bank of Mozambique and information of governance project of the information technologies and its progress.
This is the first meeting of computing directors of Central Banks of SADC countries that is taking place in Lubango.
SADC is grouped by Angola, South Africa, Botswana, DR Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Mozambique, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
