Bottle store employee locked up for dealing in liquor illegally

NORTHERN CAPE – A 36-year-old bottle store employee is expected to make a brief appearance before Prieska Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 26 July 2021, subsequent to be found dealing in liquor illegally.

The bottle store employee was arrested on Saturday, 24 July 2021 at approximately 5.30pm, he was caught red-handed contravening the Disaster Management Act Regulations under alert Level 4, by selling liquor to the public. Members of Prieska Visible Police were conducting crime prevention patrols in the CBD when they noticed suspicious activities at the bottle store in Stewart Street. The Acting Station Commander, commended members of their vigilance and by bringing the perpetrator to book. The suspect was found in possession of cash, presumed to be the proceed of illegal dealing of liquor.
