EASTERN CAPE – Alert Msobomvu police arrested a 28-year-old man for rape of a 16-year-old girl.
It is alleged that the victim was from a tavern at Bika Township, Butterworth on Wednesday, 26 February 2020 at about 00h30. She noticed that a man was following her as she was going home. The suspect attacked the victim. It is alleged that the victim was raped by the suspect and a Msobomvu Police patrol van caught the suspect raping the victim.
The suspect was arrested and charged with rape. The suspect will appear before the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 28 February 2020 on a rape charge.
