Cape Town dam levels decline by 1,3%

Dams supplying the Cape metro have declined 1,3% in the past week (3 February 9 February 2020) bringing the level down to 69,1%. Read more below:

Water consumption for the same period has dropped to 731 million litres/day. Consumption the previous week was at 738 million litres/day.

‘Regarding possible changes to the level of water restrictions, the City currently awaits confirmation of our water allocation for the 2019/20 hydrological year from the National Department of Water and Sanitation. Once this has been confirmed, an announcement will be made on what restrictions will be necessary to stay within this allocation,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Water and Waste, Alderman Xanthea Limberg.
