Cape Town POP monitor Mfuleni after SAPS vehicle torched and two police officials injured

WESTERN CAPE – Two SAPS members are receiving medical treatment after a Durbanville SAPS vehicle that was passing through School Street in Extension 3, Mfuleni was torched by angry community members who vented their anger on law enforcement vehicles after the City of Cape Town’s law enforcement officials demolished structures in the area on Sunday afternoon. The crowd pelted the vehicles with stones and later set alight the vehicle.

On arrival Public Order Police who were summoned to the scene found no groups in the area. They continue to monitor the area.

Detectives have opened cases of public violence, attempted murder and malicious damage to property.
