Cape Town Roses and UWC Ladies leading the pack in WC Sasol League

After just four rounds of matches in the Western Cape, Cape Town Roses and UWC Ladies lead the respective Western Cape Sasol League streams with plenty of football still to be played in the Western Cape.

Roses, who have established themselves as one of the best women’s clubs in the province kicked off their campaign with a closely contested 3-2 win over Santos FC in what was a thrilling opener to the season. This was then followed by a 2-1 away victory over Manenberg Ladies before a comfortable 5-0 thrashing of Milano United.

RV United almost caused an upset this past weekend but Roses displayed experience and tactical superiority with a 2-1 win to make it four wins out of four matches.

UWC have been equally impressive with their high scoring abilities in these early stages of the season. Their opening match against Ikamva United went their way in a 6-0 victory before easily brushing aside Dangerous Heroes 4-0 in their second encounter.

Spurs WFC were UWC’s next victims as they were hammered 5-1 while Maties FC were given 7-3 by the ruthless UWC who have found the back of the net 22 times in just four outings.

More Western Cape Sasol League action continues this weekend with some mouth-watering fixtures to look forward to.
