Cape Town woman arrested for alleged dealing in elephant tusks

WESTERN CAPE – The Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation team yesterday served Janine Erica Baadjies with summons to appear in the Bellville Regional Court for allegedly dealing in Elephant tusks.
Initially Glen Baadjies (46) and Tanyan Jameza Gradwell (40) were arrested in this case on 11 July 2019, after flying squad members stopped and searched a suspicious white Suzuki vehicle in Plattekloof road. The pair has since made several court appearances and the last appearance was on the 01 and 02 July 2020, the court has extended their bail of R5000 each
Meanwhile, Janine Erica Baadjies was released on a warning and is expected to join her two co-accused that includes her husband. The case against the trio has been postponed to 04 November 2020 for trial proceedings to begin.
