Century and Xterra launch Xterra Africa Property Development Fund I [press release]

…With a confluence of largely untapped natural resources, a human capital of over 1 billion people, comparative cost advantages, an urban environment poised for change, a projected GDP growth of 5.8%, Africa has become one clearly attractive Real Estate investment destination. We have been preparing, and both our team and sponsors are eager to establish this fund and start investing.
Xterra Capital Advisors
“Xterra Capital Advisors is pleased to announce today that it will be launching its roadshow for Xterra Africa Property Development Fund (“Xterra Fund”) seeking additional financial partners to buy into its vision of transforming the last frontier into a testimony of economic success” said Wagane Diouf, Managing Partner of Xterra Capital Advisors.
Made up of seasoned managers, Xterra Capital Advisors has been sponsored by international partners such as Seychelles based investment holding Century Capital Holdings. The newly established fund manager will target African based opportunities in Mixed Use Developments, Commercial, Retail, and Hospitality within the Real Estate space. Xterra Capital Advisors is advised by Mauritius based ABAX and the Safyr Group.
Xterra Africa Property Development Fund is a Pan-African Fund established and regulated by the Authorities in Mauritius. The Fund will seek a listing on Mauritius stock exchange and initially aims to raise $300 million from international investors. Xterra Fund will invest in about 20 projects across the continent. Significant seed investment has already been secured by the Fund.
The Management team of Xterra Capital Advisors is pioneering a partnership model with Africa’s largest and most reputable Developers in order to secure a large pipeline of prime development projects across the continent including Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda and South Africa. The company has identified a total pipeline of ready opportunities exceeding $2.5 Billion.
Deva Marianen, the CEO of Safyr stated that “With Xterra Capital Advisors, we have teamed up with partners who have a proven track record of transactions in Africa, accomplished in their own right and fully dedicated to the maximization of return on investments. The choice of Mauritius is a formidable one. The Stock Exchange of Mauritius (‘SEM’) has predominantly established itself as one of the most attractive financial platform for the African continent and consequently an increasing amount of both private and institutional investors are now using Mauritius capital markets to penetrate Africa as an investment destination. The Fund is looking to raise $ 300 Million to commence this process.”
Ibrahim Sagna, a senior representative of Century Capital Holdings added “With Xterra Capital Advisors, we believe that we are in a unique place in history today. We are tackling the fast growing African Real Estates sector using the rapidly improving capital markets of the continent. This gives us the chance to improve our institutional offering by way of an innovative risk adjusted Africa-centric investment proposition to global investors. We are truly eager to participate in this bespoke institutional product, optimally structured to capitalize on Africa’s drastic urban shifts.”
There is increasing worldwide interest in investing in Africa’s fast growing economies and particularly in its real estate market. Xterra Capital Advisors is putting this new fund together to offer investors strategic opportunities based on global best practices and its deep understanding of the African Continent.
