City advises of supply disruption in Eindhoven, Roosendal, Voorbrug, Leiden, N2 Gateway, Blikkiesdorp and The Hague in Delft

The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will be shutting off the water supply to a large part of Delft, which includes Eindhoven, Roosendal, Voorbrug, Leiden, N2 Gateway, Blikkiesdorp and The Hague, on Thursday, 23 June 2022, from 08:00 until 13:00. This will enable the safe replacement of the faulty control valve on the local water supply main and will result in the disruption of water supply to these areas.

The work involves the isolation of the water pipeline and replacing the faulty control valve.

Residents are kindly advised to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for domestic use during this period and to ensure that their taps are closed to avoid water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.

‘This work forms part of the Water and Sanitation Directorate’s reticulation maintenance programme, which addresses the maintenance of the water supply network, in particular the distribution system to the consumers, to ensure the conveyance of good quality drinking water. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused to the consumers in these areas, but it is a necessity that has to be done soonest,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Water and Sanitation, Councillor Zahid Badroodien.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused.
