City advises of water supply disruption in parts of Fish Hoek

The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will be shutting off water supply to a part of Fish Hoek on Friday, 17 June 2022, from 08:00 until 18:00. This will enable the safe completion of construction work on the main water supply to the area and this will result in the disruption of supply to residents in the area bounded by Kommetjie Road, Ranger Road, Hillside Road, Echo Road, where it meets Simon’s Town Main Road and Simon’s Town Main Road towards Kommetjie Road.

The work involves cutting into the pipelines to connect the newly installed water mains in Highway Road, Ranger Road and Berg Road to the existing water supply network.

Residents are kindly advised to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for domestic use during this period and to ensure that their taps are closed to avoid water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.

A water tanker will be available in the parking area on the corner of Outspan and Kommetjie roads to provide residents with water for domestic consumption where required. Covid-19 protocols must be observed when collecting water from the tanker.

This work forms part of the City’s pipe replacement programme, which addresses the need for water supply network upgrades, in particular the distribution system to the consumers.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused.
