City advises of water supply disruption to the Haasendal, Jacarandas and Jagtershof areas

The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be doing an upgrade of the 450mm diameter water supply pipeline to the Haasendal, Jacarandas and Jagtershof areas, which will involve the installation of a control valve to minimise the impact of future water supply disruptions in these areas.

This work, previously scheduled for 18 to 19 January 2022 had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. This will result in the disruption of the water supply to these areas from 20:00 on Tuesday, 12 April 2022 until 05:00 on Wednesday, 13 April 2022. Read more below:

The installation of this control valve will reduce the occurrences of water supply disruptions to a large area in the unfortunate event of a pipe burst or when future water supply network upgrades are done.

Careful consideration has been given to the planning of the work to minimise the impact on the residents.

Residents are kindly requested to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for domestic use during this period and to keep their taps closed during this period to prevent any water wastage and/or damage when the water supply is restored.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience, but it is imperative that it maintains and upgrades its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers.
