City advises of water supply disruptions in the Sunningdale area

The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will be shutting off the water supply to the Sunningdale area from Saturday, 2 July 2022 at 17:00 until Sunday, 3 July 2022 at 05:00. This will allow the maintenance teams to do emergency repairs on the 400mm diameter water main supplying Sunningdale and will result in the disruption of the supply in the area. Read more below:

Careful consideration has been given to the planning of this work, given the urgent nature thereof and also ensuring the least disruption.

Residents are kindly requested to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers and to ensure that their taps are closed during this period to prevent any water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.

The emergency repair work will take place at the intersection of Sandown Road and Sunningdale Drive in Sunningdale and will impact the traffic in the vicinity. Traffic diversions will be in place and the relevant signage will be posted to facilitate the ease of traffic flow.

The City sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers
