Crime Intelligence operation yielded good results

DIMBAZA – In a Crime Intelligence driven operation together with King Williams Town Flying Squad and K9 Unit, Police members arrested a 26-year-old male at his home in Mamata Location outside King Williams Town.

This comes after Police received information from a community member about a house that sells drugs at Mamata Location, Dimbaza. Police obtained a search warrant and on their arrival, they began to search the house and recovered two (2) firearm magazines with seventeen (17) rounds of ammunition. Thorough search was done in the house and a K9 Unit member with the assistance of his K9 named Kass, recovered an unlicensed firearm hidden underneath the matrass in the owner’s bedroom. The suspect was immediately arrested and charged for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition

The suspect will appear at Dimbaza Magistrate Court on Monday.

The King William’s Town Cluster Commander, Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga commended the members for their excellent work in ensuring that crime is reduced in the King William’s Town area. He said if they continue with operations of this nature they will conquer crime and build a safe and secure environment for our communities.
