CUBAN DELEGATION IN NAMIBIA REVIEWS COLLABORATION IN CONSTRUCTION

PRETORIA, The Hero of the Republic of Cuba Antonio Guerrero is one a visit to Namibia, leading a delegation that reviews with authorities the cooperation in the construction sector provided by Cuban collaborators.

The vice-president of the Superior Organization of Business Management (OSDE) of Construction Design and Engineering, who is accompanied by the architect Rubi Despaigne, president of the Union of Caribbean Companies (Uneca), started in Equatorial Guinea a tour by the African continent that will culminate next week in South Africa.

In a telephone conversation with Prensa Latina, Guerrero said that the two sides review the progress of work and future collaboration in that sector and that new projects are analyzed.

In their first activities in Windhoek, the Cuban representatives met yesterday with K.W. Kauria, Permanent Undersecretary of Public Works and Transport, and today with the Permanent Secretary of that Namibian Ministry.

The day will conclude with a meeting with leaders of the ruling party Organization of the People of Southwestern Africa (SWAPO, for its acronym in English).

The program in that Southern African nation includes a meeting tomorrow with the interim executive director of the Offshore Development Corporation, Philip Namundjebo, and a meeting with Cuban collaborators who give their services in that nation.

UNECA, which is an affiliate of the OSDE of Construction Design and Engineering of Cuba, is a service company with wide representation in America and Africa, whose objective is to make economically viable, structurally safe and socially sustainable projects.
