Dagga confiscated at Fairview Barkly East

EASTERN CAPE – On Sunday 8 September 2019 members of the Barkly East Mounted Unit together with Capt Louw were busy with crime prevention duties around Barkly East area.

As the members were busy with patrols they received positive information about a house used to deal in drugs at Fairview township.

Upon arrival at the house the owner ran away when he saw the SAPS.

Members then continued to search the house in the presence of the girlfriend and recovered:

– 1x Plastic bag containing loose dagga

– 25x Zolls of dagga in a plastic bag

– 1x Okapi knife

– Cash value of R402.50

The Cluster Commander Col Matshediso Gezani warned the community that the possession and dealing in drugs has a negative impact on crime and will not be tolerated.
