Dam levels recover slightly for the past week

Dam levels have increased by 0,2% for the past week (20-26 January 2020) taking the level up to 71,9%. Read more below:

Water consumption for the same period has dropped by 20 million litres/day to 742 million litres/day.

‘We are aware that residents are anxious to know whether water restrictions will remain in place, at the current level.

‘The City has met with the National Department of Water and Sanitation around this, and currently awaits confirmation of our water allocation for the 2019/20 hydrological year. Once this has been confirmed, an announcement can be made on what restrictions will be necessary to stay within this allocation,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Water and Waste, Alderman Xanthea Limberg.
