Deputy Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries leads a green back to school campaign in Free State

The Deputy Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries Ms Makhotso Sotyu will visit Kagisano Combined School in Soutpan, Mangaung in the Free State Province, as part of the Back to School Campaign on Friday 5 March 2021.

The Deputy Minister will use the campaign to support learners with school uniform, garden tools and plant indigenous trees.

The support forms part of the government’s Back to School campaign which aims to encourage learners and teachers to commit themselves to teaching and learning.

The Deputy Minister’s visit will be preceded by a Good Green Deeds programme that will mobilise the Ikgomotseng community to clean-up their surrounding in a bid to ensure an environment that is not harmful to the health and wellbeing of the people.

Both the Back to School campaign and the community clean-up activities will be facilitated under strict observance of Covid-19 alert level 3 regulations.
