Deputy Minister Manana to meet with Toyota South Africa

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mr Mduduzi Manana, MP, will meet with Toyota South Africa at their manufacturing plant outside Durban, KwaZulu-Natal province on the 11th July 2017 as part of his relentless efforts to forge partnerships between TVET colleges and industry.

The National Development Plan (NDP) articulates that over 30 000 artisans should be produced annually by year 2030 to advance economic growth in South Africa. Currently, the country is producing about 15 000 artisans per annum. It is against this backdrop that Deputy Minister Manana is reaching out to employers as they play a crucial role in artisan development.

Deputy Minister Manana is criss-crossing the country meeting with industry to encourage them to open up their workspaces and turn them into training spaces for TVET College students and lecturers to acquire workplace exposure.
