Deputy Minister Pinky Kekana opens Information Communication Technology centre in Limpopo, 18 Aug

Deputy Minister of Communications leads initiative to bridge the digital divide

Deputy Minister of Communications, Ms Pinky Kekana will on Saturday, 18 August 2018 open an Information Communication Technology (ICT) centre at Zwithuzwavhudi Secondary School, Gondeni village in Vhembe district, Limpopo.

The ICT centre will provide learners and teachers at Zwithuzwavhudi Secondary School with ICT skills such as basic computer skills, programming, art design and web browsing which will go a long way towards South Africa’s readiness for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The opening of the centre is in line with the Deputy Minister’s call to bridge the digital divide in society. Education and learning are now the lifeblood of our 21st century knowledge societies, and ICT has become integral to them. The gaps that define the learning digital divide become as important as the more obvious gaps in access to the technology itself.
