Deputy Minister Prince: Burns-Ncamashe Of CoGTA To Lead An Information Sharing Workshop On The Invest Rural Master Plan As A Catalyst For The Development Of Traditiional Communities

The Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Prince: Burns-Ncamashe will lead a two-day information sharing workshop in AB Xuma local municipality, Engcobo, in the Eastern Cape. The Deputy Minister will be hosting traditional leaders, economic cluster, sector departments, state entities and agencies.

The workshop is intended to explore possible funding opportunities for projects in areas of Amakhosi. This initiative is in line with the Invest Rural Master Plan, which is a broad strategy that covers several developmental programmes that are key to the institution of traditional leadership.

The workshop will enable sector departments and state entities to share funding support packages, which the traditional leaders can leverage on for their identified projects. This initiative will overall, promote the participation of traditional communities in cooperatives and other socio-economic development programmes, as well as present an opportunity to propose measures to counteract poverty and unemployment thereby strengthening the empowerment and socio-economic development of traditional communities.
