Despatch police seek help identifying pedestrian killed by train

Police are asking for the public’s help with identifying a pedestrian that was hit by a train in Despatch this morning.

On Saturday, 28 September 2019 around 7:30am, police were summoned to an accident scene between a train and a pedestrian in Holland Street, Despatch.

At scene, police found a lifeless body of a man approximately in his late twenties, wearing a black jacket, a pair of blue jeans and a pair of green sneakers. It is said that the unknown man was walking on the railway lines when he was hit by a passenger train that was travelling from Uitenhage towards Port Elizabeth.
