Do your work with integrityDepartment of Employment and Labour Inspector General tells inspectors

Department of Employment and Labour Inspector General (IG), Aggy Moiloa, has called on departmental inspectors to perform their work with diligence and integrity to enable them to live a lasting legacy in life.

She was addressing dozens of inspectors during the launch of Tools of trade for inspection and enforcement services at the Kabokweni stadium in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, on Tuesday.

The launch saw the Inspector General handing over 12 sedans to provincial National Minimum Wage ambassadors to enable them to do their work to ensure that employers comply with all labour laws.

”The workplace is the one place well suited to leave the mark. The space you have been given to make a difference is the workplace,” she said.

Moiloa urged the inspectors to drive the vehicles with pride, reminding them to value them as ” they have been bought with taxpayers money.”

” When we find employers who comply with the law, we will work with them. However, if we find recalcitrant employers we will show them the importance of compliance”, she said.

Also in attendance were Tibor Szana, chief inspector, Cindy Mazibuko, Mpumalanga Chief Director: Provincial Operations and Nonyaniso Njwambe the Provincial Chief Inspector.

The launch of the tools of trade follows a week long blitz inspection of farming area in and around Mbombela.

The inspections are set to continue until Friday where compliance with all labour laws will be prioritised.
