Operation Festive season continued this morning in Calvinia. Police received information about a drug dealer driving a taxi.

The suspicious taxi kombi was spotted by police this morning at 00:30 and was escorted to Calvinia SAPS. The taxi was searched, 60grams of meth (tik) and 300 mandrax tablets were discovered. The total value is estimated at R45 000.

A 46-year-old male suspect was immediately arrested and is expected to appear before the Calvinia Magistrates court soon.

Police investigation continues.

The Station Commander of Calvinia, Lt Col Vincent Van Wyk applauded members for their vigilance in making sure that drugs are rooted out of the community.
