Drug dealer nabbed in Madadeni

DURBAN – The Newcastle Public Order Police embarked in an operation yesterday at Newcastle and Madadeni areas.
The team proceeded to Madadeni following intelligence about a man in possession of drugs. They entered the house and a search was conducted. Upon searching the house they found 970 tablets of mandrax. The total value of the recovered drugs is R77 600-00.
Cash amounting toR6120-00, suspected to be the proceeds of drugs, was seized by police. A 34-year-old suspect was placed under arrest for dealing in drugs. He is appearing before the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court today.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula commended the team for the successful arrest of the drug dealer and the recovery of drugs. “I urge our police officers to stay motivated and continue with their excellent work in curbing the spread of drugs in our province,” he said.
