Drug dealer nabbed with heroin

DURBAN – Yesterday, police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit conducted an operation in Marinnridge, which led to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of drugs. Police proceeded to Comet Place where a 37-year-old male was arrested after heroin capsules were found in his possession.
Heroin capsules with an estimated street value of R708 000-00 as well as R9000-00 in cash, suspected to be the proceeds of drug trade were seized. The suspect was taken to Mariannhill police station where he was detained and charged for dealing in drugs. He was released on R30,000-00 bail and will appear in the Pinetown Magistrates Court on 11 August 2020.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula welcomed the arrest of the suspect and applauded the dedication of the police officers to root out the drug trade.
